Hollister customer service - gift card for returned merchandise

Went to the store in Lexington Ky. With my 12 year old daughter. She had her own money, so I had no choice but to go into the store with her while she shopped. She picked out a pair of shorts that were marked $34.00 on a table with a sign that said in big letter 50% off. She took this and two bottles of perfume, and stood in line 15 minuted to pay. Her total was almost $50.00. She checked the receipt and saw the shorts were rung up at full price, so she went back and checked the sign, and saw it was buy one get one 50% off.

I should mention there were only two workers ringing up purchases and one guy was tied up the whole time waiting on some lady with 5 pairs of flip flops.
My daughter gets back in the line and waits 20 minutes, this time to return the shorts and perfurme. She decides at the last minute to get a bottle of cologne, located next to a sign marked$12.00. When she got done this time she had no shorts, no perfume, a bottle of $40.00 cologne, and a gift card with $6.00 left on it.

By the way, the lady with the flip flops was still haggling with the only other teller.

So I get in line and wait another 20 minutes to return the cologne and gift card and get my daughters money back.

I found out store policy will not let you return something purchased with a gift card for cash, even it the cash was given to the worker just 50 minutes before in the same store, for merchandise that never left the store,

My daughter wound up taking the original pair of overpriced shorts, and two stupid gift cards with about $5.00 on each. No perfume, or cologne. And the flip flop lady was still not done arguing.

I will never shop Hollister again!

Oh yeah. I would fire the manager at the Lexington Store. There is no way the lady with the flip flops should have been an hour trying to figure out the pricing for her purchases. The store was hot, loud, and the lines were too long.
