Walmart
Butterball Turkey Meat - Lunch Meat

Shops, Products, Services

My son, daughter, mom, and I were doing typical weekly grocery shopping. I ordered lunchmeat. Butterball smoked turkey chipped. My son's favorite. We came home and her wanted a sandwich. I made him one and he started eating. I heard a funny noise and went to see what it was. He was choking on it. I tried to do the children's heimlich but it was ineffective. He started to turn blue. I finally did the adult heimlich and it worked. I am a nurse and know it doesn't take long when someone choke to cause brain damage. When my son vomited, I found a fairly big sized piece of packaging in his vomit. It blended in with the turkey because it was chipped. I called walmart and asked them to remove the product from the shelf, and told them my experience. She didn't seem too concerned. I took my son to the emergency room, and he was (thank God) fine. It has been four days and no one has called me back regarding my claim. I guess my son almost dying isn't a legititmate excuse. I have free legal aid through my husband's work, all I wanted was my hundred dollar hospital co-pay, but I am suing now. They should of handled the problem in a proper timeframe. NO MORE WALMART FOR ME I used to work for them, they are a horrible employer. They are very irrisponsible and this is common to the way they handle things from what I witnessed. I would rather pay a few extra dollars and avoid walmart.
