More Training Needed

Puhleeze inform your managers and check out personnel on how to handle your own advertised specials. I won't single out today's store (because this has happened at others before). Safeway advertised that it would price match other stores' valid specials. Today (5 November), I tried to check out a Shady Brook turkey with the clearly advertised GIANT special price advertisement for the same brand (and weight size). When I showed the Safeway price match advertisement at check out to BOTH the checker AND the manager, it seemed to be the FIRST time either had seen the offer and all they did was try to tell me why it wasn't valid. (I didn't spend enough money; I had spent over three times the required amount... The offer wasn't good on Butterball Turkeys; it was NOT a Butterball turkey... It was not good on a 'get a turkey free'; I was not trying to get the turkey for free (just for the GIANT price) Your ad WAS VALID. Finally got them to agree, but meanwhile, the checkout line was temporarily stopped to handle my problem, much to the consternation of other customers. So, I recommend you familiarize your staff more thoroughly on offers you intend to make in your advertisements.
