False advertising ripoff

Circuit City ran an ad on Sunday November 28 in a flyer dated 11/28/04. On page 8 was an ad for TiVo Series 2 - 80 hour DVR/DVD Recorder (DRT800). The ad showed a price of $299 with a $100 rebate. When I went to the cashier with the DRT 800 model I was told the price was $499.00. I was then told that a disclaimer was being made up that the price was wrong. There was no disclaimer nor price on the shelf when I picked up the unit.

The cashier went and got a manager who said it was a misprint ini the paper and they didn't have to honor that price, however he would give me $50 off of the $499 price. I asked him if he was doing a bait and switch. Of course his answer was no. I told him I felt that he should honor the price in the ad. He said he didn't have to do anything about it.
