Store won't honor sale prices that THEY put on display!

Today, (12/16/07) my wife and I went to Circuit City in Aurora, CO to shop for a LCD TV and found a display in the store that had a sign for a 26" Panasonic LCD TV for $417. There were 2 TVs below the sign and I picked one up and took it to the check-out. When it rang up at $800, I informed the clerk about the sign. The check-out clerk asked to see the sign which I went and got for her. The TV manager Tom, was standing there and told me "it's our sign and we will honor the price." He said that he needed to have the store manager (Shane Kittel) do the adjustment as the difference was over $50.

When I finally got to speak with the store manager, I was told that they would not honor the price. Further, I was told that I had valid arguments as to why they should honor the posted price, but again, they will not honor THIER posted price. I mentioned that they had a legal responsibility to honor their posted ads etc, and was told that they had the legal right to refuse service to me.in the end I left the store without making any purchase. The "best offer" I got from the manager was to get the TV for $600, nearly $200 over the posted price and $150 over an open-box posted price (though this unit was not open box).

Despite the clear facts that: they put up a display and posted a sign for $417 for the TV; their sign had no exemption dates; their sign had the correct brand name and model # for the TV; the TV manager: Tom, stated that they WOULD honor the price. They would NOT honor the price posted on their display.

Also, I have a picture of the sign and the unit together, and would post it if possible.

I am hereby BOYCOTTING any and all Circuit City stores as they have no concern for the customer, no quality control procedures, and NO Ethics.
