Laid off Temple, Texas workers then ripped us off from getting unemployment. Rip-off!

Mid-States Services, Inc which is a company that distributes commissary to jails and prisons, misled us employees of the Temple, Texas warehouse for 4 1/2 years. They kept switching payroll companies (that's all they told us they were) and really they were staff leasing companies. We never received copies of anything we signed.

When we were laid off the CEO of the company personally told us to go to the unemployment office. They would not fight our unemployment. We were all denied. That's because Mid-States was hiding behind these leasing companies and not telling us employees. So we have all appealed and are waiting for the next step, which is hiring an attorney because we were misled by the company and there's no telling how many times he has gotten away with this. Workers should have rights too but in Texas the employers always get away with anything. Not this time, though because we are fighting it all the way.
