No excuse for rudeness

I waited two weeks so I could be objective about this. I am still irriated so I need to share this with others.

I had just gotten a bonus at my work. I decided to buy myself an I-Pod. I had the money burning a hole in my pocket, and I saw that Target had a sale on Ipods. A friend of mine had to do an errand in San Ramon, so I thought it would be perfect. We could go to the Greatland store, get the Ipod, and maybe have lunch.

We walked in and after walking around for a while, we went to see the Ipods. It was about one, one thirty so the store was busy but not overwhelming. After selecting the one I wanted to get, we went to the electronics register to get help unlocking the case the Ipods were in. Now I should mention I was holding my friend's hand because she is sight impaired and didn't have her cane with her that day. This might make sense later in the story.

The first thing that happened was that a clerk helped another gentleman that was there after me. I shrugged it off, thinking that hey, it might be his first day and mistakes happen. He saw me and said "I'll be right with you." But he didn't help me.

Then two other gentlemen came by and started to do something with a remote control. They saw me standing at the counter yet didn't ask if I needed help, they didn't even acknowledge me.

Finally, one clerk did after I said to him "Excuse me?" I asked a question about the Ipod I wasn't clear on, then told him I was planning on buying a Ipod today but I needed to make sure of some things He answered the question, then walked away. He didn't offer to get the Ipod for me, he didn't meet me at the case, nothing.

At first I thought it was because of me, because I wasn't dressed right (Tank top and jeans, all clean) I don't know if it was because they saw me holding hands with my friend. But I do know this: There is no excuse for rudeness, and I don't plan on shopping at that Target anytime soon.

I did get my IPod at Circuit City. At least they were polite.
