Universal fidelity, LP
Legal successor of Hollywood Video Sent us to collections over bogus fees from a business that went bankrupt three years ago

Recreation & Entertainment

I was sent a letter from this company saying we had late fees from spring of 2009 at Hollywood Video. This letter was from a collection agency and I believe this incident is the catalyst for our credit score being near perfect, to dropping into the 600's. I am currently working on obtaining my credit reports to verify this. I do not pay bills late.

I really believe I had settled any late fees before Hollywood video was formally out of business in my neighborhood. However, if we did have a late fee, we were never contacted to pay the fee prior to being sent to collections. We were given no opportunity to fix it before being sent to collections. This is ridiculous.
