Why are we paying so much in service fees? Ripoff

Why does Ticketmaster find it necessary to charge so much per ticket in service fees? I recently purchased two $55/ea. Tickets to a show in Phoenix, and paid $39.90 in service fees, nearly 25%. A consumer has no choice when purchasing tickets other than using Ticketmaster. I remember back in the 1980s having to pay $0.75 per ticket as a handling fee.

Pearl Jam tried to file a class action lawsuit against Ticketmaster on behalf of their fans. I think it is about time that we stand up against this corporation and either ask for competition for the same events or pass legislation that a cap be placed on what people pay.

Ticket prices have been skyrocketing to a point where a large number of people cannot afford to attend a concert. Adding an additional 25% puts it over the top.
