Biggest mistake we ever made was to buy into Rent Magic software. Not only did we pay for a 1 year's subscription, but we wasted 5-6 months trying to be patient. We gave them every opportunity to fix their software or teach us how to make it work for our property management company. We are 3rd party property managers (we don't own the buildings we manage) and this software does not work for our purposes. The service response is horrible. The reports were poorly developed and if we wanted to change them, we had to pay for "customization". I felt like I'd be paying for fixing their software.

To the contrary, DIY Real Estate Solutions Inc in the US is AWESOME. We pay monthly a similar fee as what Rent Magic cost and the service is great. The software works. It isn't even Canadian, but they are working on Cdn customizations and are very willing to change things that need improving. Unlimited support. They are always there if you need them.

The only way I would be happy with Rent Magic is if they paid the 6 months wages of my administrator ($15 x 132 = $1980) and refund my $500.
