Loan Transfrer from Met Life - Mortgage transfer from Met Life

On March 22 I received a letter dated March 16 from Met Life, stating my mortgage would be sold to Green Tree, LLC. It stated I would receive a statement from Green Tree within two weeks. I waited until about the 2nd of April and called Green Tree. They said they did not have an account. There had been a problem and it was taken longer to transfer accounts. I received a letter from Green Tree dated March 29. It said, "You should be receiving your first statement from greet Tree by mail the week of March 25. I waited until April 10 and called Green Tree. I spoke to their representative, Tafik, ID No. E62. The person said there was no account set up. I indicated I wanted to make a payment but needed a statement to pay off of... I then started recieving collection calls from Cameo Oliver, 800-544-8056, ext. 31965. He did not care that I had not gotten a statement. He wanted payment "right" then. I explained I would be more that happy to send him a check, pay him on line, etc. If he would fax me a copy of a statement. I told him I had no idea who Green Tree was. I was in the collection business for 25 years and his tone would have been about my 10th call to a customer, not my first. He made three more calls with the same results. I would not pay until I saw a statement. Then, Lo and behold! I receive a statement on April 26. It was dated April 18, and said your payment was past due on the 16th. It is now charging me late charges. I have in the meantime contacted a third party, had the loan refinanced (my credit score is 829 and zero debt) and the third party is wire transferring the payment as of today, April 29. I imagine Green Tree will either continue to harass me or deduct the late charges out of my escrow refund. I now have read the reports of this company and glad I am getting out of it before it costs me any more than it already has. It is time for the government to shut this company down due to its practices. PS - I called them this morning and am still holding on the phone 58 minutes later! From 11:00 to 11"58 AM EST.
