IRS scam

I had some problems with a 1997 tax return and a friend heard of a group called Sound Exchange that helped people get out of tax troubles. I met a woman by the name of Jeanne Burgess who claimed she was the state director for the group she said she could help me get out of my tax problems.

She said after knwing of my case that I had to become a member 1st in order to get the help I need that she herself would provide. The membership fee was $500.00 and the books were $30.00 and that after paying my membership Jeanne would help me thru the entire process.

Another fee for service was 1,000 dollars I told her I didnot have at the time. Jeanne informed me that after speaking to the president of the group they said I must pay the membership so they could help me so that I wouldnot go to prison. I was scared and paud the $530.00 as she requested and Jeanne told me not to worry about the rest she would wait for it knwoing my finanacial situtation. I paid the membership as Jeanne asked and then she told me she was working on my case. She instructed me to withdraw my tax attorent because he would only make matters worse.

I did as she said, then she started compaling about how hard it was and that she needed me to get another person involved too, but that was not what she originally told me. It would have cost me more. Jeanne agreed to take some products from my business I was liquidating to make up for the 1,000 still owed and agreed she would wait for the rest that helping me wouldnot matter the remaingin debt.

I gave her 380.00 dollars worth of products. And found out recently she never made me a member she had never truend the money over to the organazation and she had as far as I could see done nothing for me but complain and lie.

I now have no attoreny, because I trusted her. She told another member she would give me back my money and products but has failed to do so. She has kept information of mine and hasnot contacted me after an email I sent her.

She is a liar and a fraud. I also contacted the organazation twice via internet and they said they would look into it and call me but I have heard nothing. Can somebody help me please? Thankyou Michelle Colvin
