Discrimination Disrespect and Dishonesty

I was also from the Mar 5 class that ER spoke of in the previous posting. But, unlike er, i had the good fortune of breaking the "standard" right out of training. I worked there on the call floor for about a month. I had put in my application for the desire to be placed on the helpdesk role of the company, also known as the Command Center, while in training. The policy was that i would have to work on the floor for 90 days then i would be able to be promoted. My knowledge of the systems was pretty good, and i got noticed before training was even over, thus the promotion in one month instead of the usual three.

At first it was ok. I did my job, followed the direction of the people who had been hired on since the start of the company in cape girardeau. I worked overtime, accepted and troubleshot issues in my off time (mainly calls from work saying "what do i do!") and escalated things when they needed to be. So much so that the "helpdesk" (located in chesterfield) knew me by name. Then the fun started. One of the senior members, following their policies, asked that he not work on sat and sun. When i had been promoted to the role, i was told that i would be working weekends since they had put their time in already. No problem, I was ready to work when needed.instead of his seniority giving him the weekends off as he requested, he was picking on and basically made to quit. From there they hired some more agents to our position after a couple months of "we're doing everything we can."

Ive seen this company do everything from lie straight to someones face, threaten others with the importance of their job, to let REPORTED sexual harrasment continue on and on. Ive been lied to with the famous "i dont remember that". Something needs to be done, as the vice president is even a troublemaker. The people in the positions above us even started to get position changes, and when asked, the answer was its a better position in the company. So, my supervisor went from command center sup to payroll, which is something we used to do in command center. I got the impression of rats trying to escape a sinking ship. Our coworkers, while some where doing their job to the utmost, some where "friends" of people higher up in the company and got jobs that where supposed to be "only promoted from the inside", when they had came off the street with no previous knowledge. I even had two people over me who qualified and even ran the same position that they got passed up for when the supervisor was on vacation. They got replaced by supervisors who knew so much that they had to ask us for training. And we were told to instruct them on everything we knew, as they would be our supervisors... Imagine the anger and frustrattion present when you ask your supervisor a question and they look at you cause they dont know.

In fact, they look at you for everything because they got promoted OVER people that knew not only what was going on, but had been doing these very same things since they OPENED! In my case, i experienced and saw racism, sexual discrimination on a large scale, and more harrasment and hostility than i had ever seen at a workplace before in my life. I would be willing to testify on some of the cases that i know of, and am thinking of filing my own with my full story. Places like this need something done ASAP as they are doing nothing but continuing the premise of ignorance. And i dont mean for the whole, but for the Cape branch
