I was told I would receive the student package since I currently attend college and cannot afford to pay nearly $50 a month but, sure enough, I was charged the $50 to my account and regardless of only being charged this for roughly 20 months that's still $1000, no one loves magazines enough to pay that amount of money. It clearly states that "this program involves neither a contract or an extension of credit" on the bill I received. So if there's no contract then why are they telling us differently on the phone but refusing to accept our cancellation request? When a telemarketer (because that's exactly what those people are) is throwing information at you without giving you time to process what is being stated it's obvious that our first response to their questions will be "yes" so I don't want to hear that we need to pay attention when I was struggling to understand their poor pronunciation skills. What's even worse is that their employees cannot put forth the effort to spell out their words correctly as exemplified in the previous comments they have left on this forum. I was PROMISED that my charges would be dropped down to $19.90 per month and if this action is not carried out they will be hearing from my father's attorney because that is negligence to adhere to their own guarantee (in other words, a witnessed lie). If Mountain Area Communications is this willing to hoard thousands of dollars from each consumer then they're clearly not a legitimate company and rely on scammed money to stay afloat.
