Los Angeles Times
Telesales reps do not have any ethics at all

Newspapers & Magazines

I get constant calls from the LA Times TeleSales. When I answer the phone they do their normal sales pitch. But when I tell them we are not ready to do this right now, they keep talking and pitching. When I repeat that we cannot do this right now, they will just hang up. They do not even give you an acknowledgement as a "Thank You for your time." How annoying.

This happened many, many times. The last time was today and I was nice enough to say that we are not ready to do this again and told the sales rep on the other line that whenever I get a call from Los Angeles Times and tell them we are not interested right now, all I get is a hang-up. I am not about to stoop down to thier level that is why I still would answer and speak to them in a very courteous manner even if I know and believe they would hang up on me. So today, I called their subscription department and complained about what happened. All they can tell me is that they will remove my phone number from their list. Even that is vindictive. How come they do not understand about "We cannot do this right NOW." - we are having hard times like most of us.

How rude and I will never ever buy this newspaper ever again. There are other ways to get news and I vow to not ever, ever support this business.
