RealNetworks has been billing our credit card every 3 months ($34.99) for over two years for something called a SuperPass. We never caught this as we thought it was due to my constant work travels and assumed it was traffic tolls or hotel internet providers. But it was not. I contacted RealNetworks and disputed these charges. I NEVER gave them my credit card information so they must have some arrangement from another provider to obtain the info. I never signed up for any "free" trial (as they claim), and I never requested the SuperPass service or authorized this billing. As a result, we are out $350 plus interest. To date, they have only offered to settle this by refunding $34.99. Everyone should note, my on-line research has found that there is a class action against this company in Illinois for these very same deceitful and wrongful business practices - you may wish to join the class. A simple google search will reveal hundreds of consumer complaints and this lawsuit.in addition, in their home state of Washington, the State Attorney General filed a lawsuit against RealNetworks for their deceptive trade practices similar to these. RealNetworks has agreed to pay nearly $3million due to this lawsuit. I encourage each of you to file a complaint with the BB and your own state Attorney General's office.
