Poor service - Frames and Lens

I went to Lenscrafters in Alameda Ca. On 1-9-12 for an eye exam and was treated very well.
After it was to late to get any glasses so I decided to come in the next day to get them.
This took a long time. I did find a pair that I liked but was told they were special and could take a couple of days. My wife and I were only going to be in town a couple of days and the person could not give me a firm date. I wanted to replace the lenses on my Ray Bans (Old classic style) and was told they were special too. I've been going to these guys for many years an yeah, maybe they took a little over an hour but now it'll be near two weeks.
What the heck happened? If you have long lead time product on your shelf label it!
I already paid over 600.00 for 1 pair of glasses and new lenses and I could have painted my house and built a huge shed.
