I purchased a Sony HDRPJ260V camcorder and 5 year extended warranty and was given an order #. I did not receive any email confirmation of order and on Wednesday became concerned that I had nothing to verify my order with them except the order # given to me via phone on the previous Monday. I called them Wednesday and spoke with someone who assured me that according to their policy it would take 3-5 days for my order to be processed and then ship out and at that point I would get email confirmation that the order had shipped. Today, (Friday) I called (as I was getting a bad feeling about my transaction with them - extremely high pressure sales tactics) and asked to speak with someone about my account. I was transferred to a voice - mail message from Scott. I did not leave a message but called back again and asked to speak with Scott and not his voice - mail whereupon the sales associate immediately transferred me and after 2 or 3 rings I again was introduced to his voice - mail and I did not leave a message. I called back again and was adamant that I personally speak to Scott (who I found out is the one who sold me the camcorder and was successful in selling me the extended warranty) and that I wanted to cancel the order. I read their cancellation policy and I can cancel the order and be refunded the amount billed to my credit card if the item had not shipped. I finally was put through to Scott and I told him I wished to cancel. He said that he would have to check to see if it had been shipped first. I said it couldn't have shipped as I hadn't received a shipping confirmation yet. He asked me to hold
and when he came back on he said that it looks like it may have shipped. At this point I REALLY am getting a horrible feeling that this is not a reputable company. This $549.98 has been charged to my credit card. I said I wanted to be refunded my money and have the order cancelled. He said that he would try to find out if it had been shipped first and would try to get back to me today but it was early afternoon and he did not know if it would be today. Customer service is closed Saturday and Sunday. It is now 8:45 pm Pacific and I did not hear back from him. After our last conversation I left him a message on his mailbox extension appealing to his conscience and asking him to do the right thing. I want to cancel this order and NEVER deal with this company again.
