Ripoff Dishonest management practices, bait and switch, offered to extend lease at one price then told me she couldn't

Tonya Demski, the manager of Copper Palms offered to extend my lease for 3 months at a rate lower than the month to month rate. When I came into the office on the first of the month to pay my rent I asked her to go ahead and extend my lease for 3 months beginning that day. She told me I had to pay the higher month to month rate for an additional month even though I was there to pay my rent on time on the day it was due. I asked her why and she gave me the lame excuse that "it was already in the computer." I asked her what that meant and she just repeated that she couldn't do it.

At that point I paid the higher month to month rate and gave my 30 day notice to vacate the apartment. I would have continued to rent for three more months, but Tonya wouldn't make an adjustment to the figures in her computer, so she got her extra $80 for one month, but lost an excellent renter for two months at $600 per month. You do the math. Not so smart or ethical.

When I moved out, I forgot to return the keys on the day I moved out. I got a call from Tonya three days after I moved out reminding me to turn in the keys. I appologized and said I would be sure to turn them in that day. She then told me she was going to charge me for an additional three days. I asked her to work with me as it was an honest mistake, but Tonya once again told me "it was in the computer" and refused. She said she was entitled to do so by law. I would not recommend anyone rent at Copper Palms Apartments.
