Had a Dell for 8 years great computer except for the viruses every now and then. My son wanted an Apple so we decided to upgrade (so we thought) to an Apple.in May the mac just shut down. I thought I touched something wrong but was able to turn it on again. Then it happened again in june and july. But in august it happened again and couldn't get it to power on again. Contacted apple, they told me to take it in for repair. When I got there they told me I needed my screen replaced also. After a week of apple having our mac they called me and told me I neede to have an external harddrive. Thank god I had purchased one when I bought the mac. Picked up the Mac, they didn't even want to showme how to locate my data. Took my Mac home, called the support line so they could help me locate the data. The rep on the phone walked me through the steps and couldn't locate it. He said it didn't seem like they saved the info and to take back to store. Went back to the store with com and external drive they were able to find it. I askd about my word and excel and told me they didn't save it. I told them I can't find my cds and they were like oh well. They didn't replace it. I had to pay a co-worker to reinstall word and excel. That day i left my power cord and external drive at the store on the counter, they claim they couldnt find it and didnt even want to provide me with a power cord. Now Ltoday 11/26 the Mac isn't powering up again. This is a headache. My son cant even finish his assignment. Which is the reason we bought the Mac in the first place so he could do his homework. We were planning on buying him a Mac pro book but after thiw we are just going to buy something else.
