Miscellaneous

In June of my handicapped brother purchased a two year subscription to TV guide through Total Magazine Subscriptions. He made 2 payments of $69.95.in April of less than 1 year later, he received a phone call to renew the subscription! The 2 YEAR subscription was less than 1 year old. This time, he subscribed for 4 YEARS! With 2 payments of $159.90. This was a debit to his account in April and May.in JUNE he received ANOTHER call to "renew" at a "better rate, " 2 payments of $139.90. When I called to complain, they removed the 2 LOWER charges, but not the two higher ones. When I asked why they made a call to renew in April for a subscription that was good through JUNE I was told that they call "a year in advance because it takes 60-90 days to get the new subscription started." When I asked why they called 14 MONTHS prior to the expiration date when they only "needed" 60-90 days, she said, "that's our policy."
