Our washing machine was not quite fourteen months old when it Failed. It was in the middle of a wash cycle when the main circuit breaker for the house tripped. When it was reset the machine was completely dead, no display, just the fill valve constantly on.
When a Hoover Candy Service engineer came out he found that the wiring loom had shorted out against the chassis of the machine. This had blown the controller, display, damaged 3 valves and the machine needed a complete new wiring loom.
Although the parts were free, under a five year free parts scheme, I begrudge paying the £120 callout fee. This fault was due to the wiring loom being incorrectly routed during assembly and is not a wear part.
Hoover Candy have refused to re imburse the money.
