Miscellaneous

Via an intrusive pop-up, Superior High Tech Help (aka PC Power Speed) introduced thenselves to me. After calling them to complain about their pop-up; they explained that the pop-up was for my benefit - my computer had lots of "errors" and was in bad need of cleaning. For the price of only $249.95 they would "fix" my computer and monitor its condition for 1 yr.
Like an idiot, I consented. My computer was no better afterwards; in fact, it was worse. When I called them up, I soon realised, from the background noise, that it was just a house with presumably a family from India living in it. I argued with the man for while; after which he consented to forgo my payment. My bank statement however, says otherwise. I'm out $249.95, and feel like an idiot.
