Lonestar Barns, Inc
Horse Barn Construction & Workmanship Very Poo

Miscellaneous

We purchased a horse barn from Lonestar and entered into a contract with them on 5/31; it was revised after additions were made to the barn on 8/22. Had problem with delivery that was finally resolved in April however after the barn was constructed there were several inferior workmanship issues that needed to be resolved as follows: Metal roofing was haphazardly spliced together, some of it was damaged even before it was installed and the ridge cap was put on crooked causing the roof to leak in the stalls on the south side and down the middle aisle; The tongue & groove boards were not installed high enough in some of the walls to keep out inclement weather; The metal siding above the sliding doors on both ends of the barn was not fastened down properly & rattled violently when it was windy; The stall latches fell off the stall and tack room doors; Two support posts for the lean-to were put up crooked and were not secured at the roofline; We paid an extra fee for insulation for the interior roof of the barn, Lonestar purchased the wrong installation, tried to install it anyway and ALL of it fell down; The purlins were cut too short and had to be welded so they were secure; Lonestar agreed to pay us for the use of our farmhouse by the crew while they were installing the barn and never sent us a check. We have copies of corresondence from Lonestar and the installer/contractor stating they were aware of the issues and would come back out to fix them.in early September, they quit corresponding with us all together and will not call us. To avoid further and impending damage to the barn and foundation, we were forced to hire a local contractor, Browning Construction, to fix all the issues with the barn Lonestar refused to resolve. We can provide upon request: Photos of all the issues with the barn, Copies of our contract and revised contract with Lonestar, A copy of our paid-in-full invoice from Lonestar for the barn, Copies of correspondence with Debbie Brown, President of Lonestar and with Michael Russell, the contractor, verifying they were aware of the issues and would fix them, A copy of the invoice for use of the farmhouse and correspondence with Debbie Brown/Michael Russell regarding payment for the use of the farmhouse, & A copy of our paid-in-full invoice to Browning Construction for repairing all the issues wtih the barn.
