I purchased a leather sofa from Macy's. It was a floor model and was stated to be in excellent condition, but with no warranty or guarantee. I sat on the sofa and it was comfortable, so I purchased it.

However, when I received the sofa at my home, I began to inspect it thoroughly. I should have done this in the store, however, I was in a hurry as I was moving.

The cushion in the middle of three had sand or some kind of debris coming up between the seams and continues to do so. Thus, the sofa cushion is sagging and lopsided and I can not sit on that side of the sofa; it is very uncomfortable.

Also the back of the sofa where you rest your back, is also sagging. You can see the leather pulling down. I do not know what they stuffed the cushions and the back of the sofa with, but obviously it was inferior materials. This is a Natuzzi sofa, which I understood had a very good reputation and quality leather. However, I found out later that Natuzzis are made in three different countries. One country of course is Italy. This sofa was not manufactured in Italy.

I posed my problem with the sofa to the manager of the store. She was quite kirt and rude and stated, "you bought it as is, with no warranty".

The sofa should not have been on the floor as a saleitem. It should have been stated as 'damaged'. This is, in my opinion false advertising. Macy's would not do anything to replace the damaged sofa with another of the same price, or I would have even paid more. I just liked the look of this sofa and fell in love with it.

I also filed with the BBB, but they did nothing, as the companies pay to belong to the Better Business Bureau.

I will never deal with Macy's Furniture again. They are not reputable!
