Consumer Report

Miscellaneous

After the storm Debbie hit Fla. We discovered problems with our home foundation. Water was sipping in. We called Thunder Bay for an estimate, they came in on 8/13. We agreed with the estimate. The company Rep. Keith Brown told us that we would not need a permit for underground pins and that it would cost his company $400.00 for the permit.
We took it upon ourselves to go to the Government Building to play safe and we found out that not only did they needed a permit, but it only cost $80.00. We called Mr. Brown and told to get that permit before the worked started. He got upset with us and told us we should have never gone to the "city" to get that permit. He came to the house and collected $2100.00 for the work and the $80.00 for the permit. I asked him to sign a receipt for the money and he said that he was going to get the permit and would be right back and then the recipt. Next thing I knew, a crew of 4 men showed up instead and started working on the underpinning of the house. Mr Brown never returned, would not answer our phone calls and we never got the permit or the reciept sign for the money recieved. We contacted his manager and he should no interest in helping us either.
