I have been receiving phone calls for months that when I answered an automated message offered a free cruise if I completed a simple survey. Finally, I decided to answer the phone for nothing else but to entertain myself. I answered a quick 30 second survey of random questions and then was redirected to a saleswoman. The woman pitched a "free" 2 night cruise to the Bahamas, all expenses paid for two people. All meals and entertainment is included, I can travel any time in the next 18 months, and all I had to do was register *right now* by paying a $59 per person government support tax. I am hesitant about giving my credit card information to strangers on the phone.
She was clearly reading from a script, and when I asked her why I had to pay right that second if I have 18 months to decide when to sail, she put me on with someone else. A man got on the line that spoke quickly, but politely. He gave me every bit of information I could possibly need about the cruise and how to register, except what I was actually asking. He never gave me a real answer about why I had to pay immediately, or why I couldn't mail in my payment, or why I couldn't discuss the trip with my husband and call back tomorrow.
The website they gave me, www.bestcruisegetaway.com, never loaded, and when I tried calling back I could never get back to either of the people I originally spoke to. I did some research and there is a possibility that this promotion exists, but even if it's not a scam it is not in any way on the level.
