I received a telephone call today, an automated voice indicated that if I fill a brief political survey I would win a free Caribbean cruise. Out of interest I completed the three questions and was forwarded to a representative who said she was from Caribbean Cruise Lines, her name was Jasmine and ID of AQ8524. She explained in detail what the Cruise entailed, departing from Palm Beach, food/snack inclusive etc. She then said I had up to 18 months to take the Cruise except between Jan 18-Jan 31 due to ship maintenance. She then confirmed that I have a passport and a credit card.
I was then asked to register and I declined providing any information and requested a number to call back. Jasmine said it is not possible to call back because they receive the automated call forwarded from the political party conducting the survey. I then said that I will decline the Cruise. She then asked me what she can do to make this all work out and I stated "give me a call back number". She said she will see what she can do and put me on hold for a moment and put a supervisor on. He said he cannot hold the Cruise for me unless I register and pay a port fee. I then said that I will then decline the cruise and he responded with a confirmation that I have declined the cruise and wished me a great day.
I do not know whether it is from an official Caribbean Cruise Line corporation and I do not want to slander them if they have nothing to do with this.
The above note is simply posted for you to be aware of this call, simple internet research indicates that it is a scam. Some posts indicate that the Cruise is real however, all the fees and added costs sum up to the price of an actual Cruise and that there are high pressure Time Share sales upon the cruise. Other posts indicate that there wasn't a cruise, but they continue to receive credit card charges.
