Our central AC compressor was diagnosed as "frozen" and not repairable by both our maintenance HVAC guys and the CHW chosen contractor. Their contractor admitted that lack of maintenance on our part was not the issue, just simply "old age" and should be covered.
Well, according to CHW staffer and supervisor, we had not maintained the unit according to manufacturers specs and our coverage is void.
Well, we only own the home for two AC seasons... And this, our second season was when we called for routine maintenance, only to find the compressor had died. That was not good enough for CHW... Even though we informed them that we did not have records of care from former owners due to not having any contact with them, but, the units were in great shape and filters and such were always cleaned. The staffers were extremely rude and said we had little recourse but to file for mediation with the same people who denied the claim. I intend on contacting our State Atty. General's office to complain.
