When I received my electric bill for the month of August, it was $375 and I expected it to be because we ran out air conditioners like crazy, and our towns little podunk electric company has been known for ripping of customers. We began turning our air conditioners off because it was so hot outside that our air conditioners could not keep up with the heat and it would be 99 degrees in our house. Me and my family of 4 had to stay cooped up in 1 bedroom in our trailer with 1 air conditioner running just to keep cool and we did this for a month to avoid an outrageous electric bill. When my bill came in today i was stunned to see that I owe $591. This bill is extremely unfair due to the fact that we have been conserving electricity to avoid this! How am I supposed to be able to pay this bill and afford to keep my other bills paid when this electric bill is more than my paycheck?!? Are they punishing us for trying to save money and conserve electricity?
