Experience Sales
Angel G P-51 Mustang Scam

Miscellaneous

A very articulate young lady knocked on my door, she said her dad (a retired Marine colonel) who lived on a street nearby made her go door to door. She explained that she was a senior at the University of Miami and was trying to earn money to fund a trip to Everett WA (Boeing) to work on the restoration of a P-51 Mustang. She asked if I knew what that was and when I replied that I did she started rattling off details about the aircraft all of which were true so the conversation seemed believable. She said that the trip was worth three credit hours and that they were going to Everett in mid-September. She talked about what a ripoff (imagine that) it was to sell wrapping paper and that her group from UM was working with a company called Experience Sales and that books would be sent to the Arnold Palmer Children's Hospital. The student would get money for their trip to Everett and the hospital would get the books for children in the cancer ward. She also stated that the donation qualified as a tax donation as a 501c3. After I wrote the check and while she was filling out the receipts a couple of things she did and said made me start to question the whole situation. As with others who have experienced this scam the young lady was very polite, articulate and complimentary and would do extremely well in a legitimate sales job. Her cell phone rang twice and she said it was her father calling but she made like there was poor cell reception and dismissed the call quickly. She went on to explain that the transaction could be canceled within three business days by following the instructions on the receipt. She did not put her name on the receipt and sending written notice to a PO box for Experience Sales would not meet the time limit of three days so I immediately began researching on the internet and saw many scams associated with Experience Sales. When I found one exactly like mine I did not waste any time initiating a stop payment on my check. This girl was good at what she does...
