A young man came to our door saying he was an ohio state university student and was in a program to raise funds for a trip. He said that his family recently moved here from texas and that they lived in the neighbor hood, he was selling childrens books for akron childrens hospital or your self.

He said that the check would not be cashed for 2 weeks and someone would be calling to confirm the order before they cash the check. After he left we did some research on the experience and find out that there are several other people who have gotten scammed by this type of door to door sales.

So we stopped payment on our check and are filing a report with the local police. Be ware of this scam.
