Since December SCE&G representatives have increased my bill averaging between $87 to 120's to 166 to 350 in 2012. I have called several times trying to determine what caused the change. My meter has been checked twice by their company. Of course, they found no problem with the meter. I have personally had 2 different people to inspect my home for possible causes of electricity increases. I have modified my usage by: 1. Setting my thermostat to 80 degrees, turning off my breakers when I am not at home, not using my water heater.instead of improvement, there is a steady incline in the charges. My last option is to: 1. Turn off the electricity and live by lamp light? I would like some assistance. Thank you. I can not continue to afford these prices especially for a Single female living alone in a 1000 to 1200 sq ft house.
