Same story as the rest. Mystery Shopper deposit check, take 350.00 for weekly pay after check clears 12 to 24 hrs. I didn't have an account so I used the check to open one. Later that evening I went online to see if it had cleared, it hadn't
but they said [chase bank]I could withdraw $100.00 dollars. So I went to the bank atm, put my shiny new debit/atm card in and a message appeared on the screen that said I needed to call the chase 800 number. You have to relize I've been out of work for 4yrs and to get paid that much for shopping and getting to keep what I bought was to GOOD TO BE TRUE! I called and chase told me the check was altered/fictitious and my account will be closed. What gets me is a few days later chase sent me a LEGAL COPY of the check and it says I can "use it the same way I would use the original check"I'm confused in California.
