Miscellaneous

This company has misrepresented itself as a government agency. I paid $189.00 USD for what was advertised as an "application fee" for an N400 United States Naturalization Form. This up-front fee covers a "feature" that allows you to type out the required fields on a form that can be found for free at any immigration office or on the official USCIS website.

The site is structured to appear as if it is a government site. The $189.00 payment appears on my credit card statement as US-IMMIGRAT and the business name appears as "American Immigration Center".

This site provides no service to justify the $189.00 fee. When you complete the application, you have succeeded in providing a company with your most personal information and you have paid them to take it from you.information provided includes: names of family members; social security number; birthdate; residences for the past 5 years; criminal history; a five-year history of your work experience; a five-year history of your schooling; a five-year history of your vacations abroad; marital history including divorces and annulments; the names birth-dates and addresses of your children; and more. All of this goes to a company who is ranked a "D" by the Better Business Bureau and charges customers for documents that the U.S. Government provides for free.

The BBB reports that "Consumers feel the website is misleading and it gives them the impression they have accessed a government site" and "Consumers then realize that some of the charges incurred are for the processing and filing of forms and not actual government fees". The fees on the site appear indistinguishable from the US Government filing fees.
