1. Contacted AOL for tech support. I called the number on AOL screen. I was connected to hat I thought was AOL tech support.
2. The technician confirmed that he was in fact AOL technician.
He advised my computer was infected with viruses and advised he would need to spen 45 - 60 minutes re mote to fix the situation.
3. He said they we going to extend my computer waranty at the sametime. (SCAM) The comupter is 8 years old.
4. He told me my system and network were also comprmized.
5. He advised the charge was $499.95 which I thought to be excessive, nd told the technician Nathan so. He advised he was also updating Microsoft package (SCAM)
6. After giving my credit card and the suppose work was completed. I was told not to chang my password.
7. I insisted I would chang my password, The technician Nathan asked for my new password.
8. He advised I should call him monthly to have my computer checked.
9. After I rebotted my computer I found my system to be at rick with virus.
10. I contacted AOL who I have been a member with for 20 plus years. They advised they were not associated with any company named ubill.com or upclick.com. Iknew it was a scam.
11. My credit card company was advised and they are now doing in investigation for fraudlant charges.
12. I contacted ubill.com to advise them I was told they were a scam and requested a detail bill for the work they provided.
13. When I received the itemized bill it was for a 3 Year Unlimited Software Support, which I never authorized.
