My family rented his property for the week of 7/21. He told me that we had to be out by 10am as this is when they come to clean and get ready for next people. My family was gone by 945am, I stayed behind, waiting outside, to ask to do a walk through so there would be no problem with my security deposit. They came around 10:30am and started taking pictures of my car in their driveway. I walked over to them (I was on the front steps) and introduced myself and told them I waited to do a walk through. His response was "absolutely not, we don't do walk throughs, but leave the property now". I left and got my husband because something was obviously not right. We came back to his house and my husband was informed we were not getting our deposit back for 3 reasons. 1. They were upset by what was written in the "tenant book", my son, 17 and his friend, 18 wrote some things and used a swear and he was "very upset by this" 2. I was on his property after 10am 3. There was a hold in the back door screen. We told him that was there when we got there and that my daughter, 14, immediately asked about the hold when we got there because she was nervous that an animal could come through so we had to keep the door closed for the week. I asked him "you can't keep 300.00 for those reasons" his response was "I can do anything I want" I told him I was coming back with a policeman. He pushed open the front screen door as if to come at me and yelled "you will be hearing from my attorney" we contacted the Yarmouth police and unfortunately they told us they can't do anything about this sort of thing, it was a "civil complaint" This man is a scam artist, he obviously never had any intention of returning a penny of our deposit before he even got to the property and evident by the fact that I was denied a walk through.
