Lost or stole package

Fed - ex came to allegedly deliver a package to my home in lancaster, pa. While i was in n.Y. And left a door tag saying they made a first attempt to deliver a package (attempt) means "unsuccessful " delivery. After numerous calls, to fed-ex, i was told i received a package. I was also told by another incompetent employee that they "don't" have a tracking number and to check iththe sender. I was not expecting a package. With over 6,800, 000 people in the world, where am i suppose to start? Fed-ex sucks! They never resolved this issue.
