I know better, but we "won" a cruise for listening to a vacation plan. I believed it because we had to make various payments to cover the outside expenses. Port fees, processing fees etc... And because we've gone on cruises for under $400.00, so it was logical. First it was a check for $99 each (x2). Then it was a check for $50.00. At which time we rec'd a list of Cruises to choose from. We were then told to send an additional $98.00 along with our request, and we would hear back from them within 60 days of the chosen cruise. Forty days before sail, after spending a lot of time tracing down a phone number that didn't have a full mailbox I called them to ask what was up, after all we were flying across the country for this cruise. She told me she needed to calculate the difference owed according to the cruise we had chosen, and then stated for just $1400.00 more we can go. I told her to send back my money and forget it. I could book that same cruise for under a thousand (which I did, and we went). She told me that there was a $50.00 fee, (for all of their "trouble) and then they sent me back this piece of crud paper "travel credit" for their company good for 1 year. Why in the world would I send them another nickel. I kept all copies, receipts, records of calls etc... If I can be scammed, anyone can be scammed and I'm really ticked.
