A young man came to the door wanting to sell childrens books to help him earn a trip. I asked him a few questions, which he was very evasive of. I should have caught on when he said he lived here in town, when I asked him where he said, not far from here. I asked him what street and he didn`t know as he had just moved from the east end of town. I told him I lived in the east end for a long time and I knew it pretty well. He changed the subject to he was going into the Marine Corp. Before long, as I thought was funny as he was trying to win a trip. He wanted cash for the books as it would give him more points towards the trip. I should have gotten wise then, but he said to just give him a dollar and a check for the rest which I agreed to. After looking into this further I saw this page and knew I wasn`t alone. The back of the reciept said to provide a front and back copy of the cleared check within 6 weeks of the original dote of sale. The check hasn`t cleared as of 4 weeks and to allow 150 days for delivery which I think is entirely to long to wait for a childrens book.
