PECO came out and clipped my power lines at 4:30pm on a friday, knowing damn well there was no way to get an assistance or call anyone until Monday.in these trying times it's a struggle to make my bill payments. I'm at risk of losing my home, my other utilities are being shut off. I have been searching for a full time position for the last two years, only to find part time work and daily contract jobs that are few and far between. I take care of my 70 year old mother who has health conditions and without power she's bound to end up in the hospital. PECO at first told me I could use a medical form, then they changed their story - Medical Form $1000... With no income how am I suppose to manage that one? Every day I called to find out if there was something I could do to get my power back on and every day I was given different stories about the amount that I need to have it restored. Their customer service representatives answer to my question about "what if my mother gets increasingly sick or dies from heat exhaustion" was to send her to the hospital. Do you think anyone wants a stranger to tell them that over the phone? Today the heat index reach 93 inside my house it's 120. When and if my mother develops more problems from this, then I can take it to another level? We need other options other than PECO. They should not be allowed to monopolize our energy. Their customer service and technicians need a lesson in humanity as well.
