Ordered a pair of Josef Seibel Flannery boots for $67.50, free shipping.
Confirmation email with the order listed as pending, PayPal funds transferred
right away. Didn't hear for two weeks, so I contacted seller by email, no response.
I complained to PayPal who contacted seller and was given a tracking number.
Three weeks and one ignored email later I get a shower cap in the mail.
Placed a claim with PayPal who after a few days said the dispute was decided in my favor but I had to return the shower cap to China with tracking at my expense and recommended Global Express mail. $58.
I called, got a PayPal rep who pretty much blew me off. Called again, this time the rep was sympathetic and said PayPal could kick in $25 towards postage.
Well that meant I was still paying a chunk of money to return this little piece of crap back to scam artists in China, just so I could get my money back under PayPal's buyer protection plan.
So I called again.
Third time was a charm, got a rep who looked over my case and resolved it in my favor on the spot.
I will say that at least it was pretty easy to get a real person on the phone and I wasn't kept on hold for any unreasonable length of time.
Seems odd PayPal would risk their reputation like this. I only ordered from this company to begin with because I could pay through PayPal and figured it must be secure. They came through in the end but it took persistence on my part and the first guy I dealt with was a jerk.
