Please Improve

I don't understand Kohl's. I live In Garden Grove, CA & live near a Kohl's in Santa Ana. I have been going to Kohl's for 6 years now. I have been getting the Kohl's credit coupons in the mail for years now, even though I didn't qualify for their Kohl's credit card. Today I was told I couldn't use my own credit/debit card. They said nothing has changed but I know it has. Why is it they don't let me have a credit card, but tell me I need one or I have to pay the normal price. Isn't that kind of blackmail!!!
I think it is ridiculous, in times like these, when the economy is so bad that stores can treat you so unfairly. I have a incoome under $22,000 a year which puts me in at poverty level, so it's not easy for me to pay the atrocious prices they charge when there is no discount.
