Ripoff A hotel to never stay at or work at

I was employed at this place from July to December.in early December I got sick and had to go to the hospital. I kept my employer informed throughout my stay as requested, and let them know once I had gotten out.

They said they would get back to me regarding going back to work and to check with them after the first of the new year. When I went back, I found that my position no longer existed. They discriminated against me on the basis of my medical condition, which did qualify as a disability.

I filed for unemployment. I had to fight all the way to the administrative law judge to get my unemployment. I also filed complaints with the EEOC and the Illinois Dept of Human Rights. The Illinois agency has been a pain to work with. The investigator is never there when I try to call her. I wonder about how much weight the state is going to place on my complaint, or if it's going to be swept under the rug.

I'm not the first person to get the short end of the stick by this company. Others got mistreated as well during my time there. The man who owns the place thinks he is above the law. This man only does the bare minimum as far as the upkeep of the hotel is concerned, which was falling apart around us.in addition to the hotel, he owns Top Block and Brick and the Silver Eagle Events Center, which are both in East Dubuque.

I urge anyone thinking about employment at these places, or patronizing these establishments to think long and hard about doing that. They may do to you what they did to me.
