I received a phone call from Great American Readers offering 4 magazine titles for $33/ month for 3 years. They never told me that I could not discontinue the service. They started sending me all sorts of magazines that I have no interest in. When I realized that I was being charged for magazines that I did not order, they told me that they no longer do business with those titles and they substituted other titles in place of the ones I wanted. When I asked to discontinue my contract as they have not sent me any magazines that I wanted, they told me that I could not cancel and that my bill for $700 would be sent to a collection agency. After 3 hours on the phone with customer service they agreed to let me out of my contract but they would not return any of the $300 that they collected. I am just happy to be done with it at this point. It is a total scam.
