Cult—Brainwashed and then attacked/threatened upon deciding to leave

I was recruited by someone with who my best friend works. We were told that this was a professional development/career advancement convention. This sounded great, as I am a teacher from California. I knew immediately that we had been mislead. People were harrassed and yelled at, and I saw that weak people were broken down IMMEDIATELY. Everyone in attendance had crazy stories of abuse and neglect and constantly broke down. Hans Berger and staff attacked these people, blaming them for all they had been through. I was forced to to sit in front of a chair and pretend like it was someone from my family who hurt me and beat it! I refused, insisting that no one from my family had ever hurt me enough to want to beat a chair. I was threatened for "not going the distance."

On day one, staff made us turn in all prescribed medications, and we had to promise to not drink caffeine and alcohol during the training (I'm surprised we were not stripped-searched). It was obvious from the beginning that the cult was trying to break people down, followed by mind control... We were given new names—most of which were disturbing, and then forced to wear name-tags. We were kept in the training room until 12 AM some nights and then required to be back at "training" at 8 am the next morning.

In the end, it was my own choice to attend this cult convention in utah (I was mislead, but it WAS my choice). What i did not choose is what happened to me when i told them that this was not for me, and that i was not coming back. I was trapped in a vehicle with my 'angel' and another cult member. They screamed at me and harrassed and threatened my life. I have never been so scared, but they did eventually take me to a hotel across town. I was on the 6am flight out of there the following morning. I am very lucky that I am a strong-willed person who was smart enough to recognize that this is a scam and cult. I have family members to work on the utah state legislature, which has been trying to disassemble this cult for years. I filed a police report, and now a restraining order against the person who recruited me. I have now a lawyer fighting my case.

I don't want anyone else to make the same mistake I did. I only wish I had read one of these reports before attending this cult
