In the Fall of 2011 my wife and child traveled four hours to a land sale that was advertised heavily on the Internet and through US mail and also on the radio stations. We were required to make an appointment and when we arrived were told we would have a preview of the land sites up for sale. We showed up 1 and half hours early and were constantly told to wait. Soon the time came for the event to "start" and we NEVER got the preview we were told we would get. Once the vent started it was the craziest experience we had ever had when looking to buy land. We were drove to the land approximately 1-2 miles down the road and before we knew it the event was on full bore. The sales people drive you in their vehicles and will not take NO for an answer. We were not able to be taken back to our cars for 2 hours all the while being told to continue looking at the Lots because they would be sold fast and it was out only chance to purchase them at the prices that were incredibly higher than ever advertised. The Land was at Lake Nottley in Georgia. There is a real reason that this property never could sell while on a legit market by a Builder or Realtor. This is so misleading. Save your valuable time and energy and most of all your money! Since leaving the event Lakewood Land Company has stopped contacting us after repeated requests for them to stop. We filed a report to the BBB and Lakewood never responded to it. I am just glad we stood our ground and never caved to their pressure... Very high pressure sales approach.
