Fred meyer double whammy

I've been treated rudely by Fred Meyer employees before, but today I got double indifference.

First, I went to the garden center in response to their ad today for snapdragons at 59 cents each. I asked an elderly lady working there where they were, and she started out by saying that there was a problem with the pricing, then she took me to a tray with a few scraggly plants and a lot of broken ones, and said that was what she had. When I started asking her whether the adjacent flowers were the same price, she started talking on her phone/intercom in the middle of my question, and walked away. I stood there trying to figure things out, during which she finished on the phone from a few aisles over, and either had forgotten all about me, or didn't care about my question, as she started doing something with the plants where she was then, so I left.

Then, in the main store, behind the customer service desk, there were some tables with Easter candy, discounted 50%, one large bag of which had no price. I took one of the bags to the back of the desk and asked the young man standing there if he knew the price. He said he didn't, and asked the woman at the counter if she knew. She scanned it and told me a price, whereupon I asked her if that was before or after the discount. She responded that she "had no idea", and turned around and started talking to someone on the other side of the customer service kiosk. Needless to say, I didn't buy the candy.

If this is the way Fred Meyer treats its customers, it's a wonder to me that they're still in business. On the other hand, this is the west coast, so maybe people are accustomed to being treated so rudely. I, however, am not, and won't be going into that store again anytime soon. It's the second one in the area that I won't return to, for the same reason.
