Unprovoked Rude Employee

Good afternoon,

I’m truly appalled at the service and lack of respect for consumers at the said location. On two occasions (November and April 12) I witnessed this same type of behavior from your Sunoco employee named Muhammad whom refused to give his name and proceeded to remove his name tags when asked for his name.

Although, I was not directly involved in this incident I believe that it can be easily categorized as age discrimination, race discrimination or sex discrimination based on the treatment of these senior citizens that happen to be women of the same ethnicity.

These older women patronize your company mainly to purchase newspapers and lottery scratch tickets. These scratch-off lottery tickets are displayed in a clear plastic case labeled by numbers which coincide with the scratch-off tickets (e.G., Label#1 refers to JackPot tickets, Label#2 refers to Get Rich tickets).

These older women (consumers) sometimes overlook the labels that coincide with the scratch-off tickets and request the listed price of the tickets (JackPot $5, Get Rich $10) instead of the label number.

In other words they will ask for a number 5 scratch-off ticket (Jackpot), which is the price of the ticket; instead of the correct Label#1 of that ticket (JackPot).

This should be a minor issue for paying consumer. However, Mr. Muhammad becomes indignant over these minor mistakes as if he has a deep imbetted hate for these women. His behavior towards these women is not normal and beyond the scope of a reasonable persons reaction.

It’s the disregard and hate that is swiftly roused that concerns me. He gestures these women in a demeaning manner and refuse to change the unused scratch-off tickets or refund the money. The behavior is inappropriate and I believe it’s driven by one of the protected classes I mentioned above.

These women are advanced in life and in my opinion purchasing lottery tickets is more about the independence of getting out and walking to your Sunoco location rather than actually winning a prize. Whatever the case Muhammad treatment is unacceptable and I will not support Sunco as long as Muhammad continues to work at this store location. Please contact me via email if you have any question.
