Lied by Telephone sales rep. Las Vegas

Miscellaneous

We were called by Telephone Sales Rep. She said her name was Angel. She said we had been pre-approved by FDIC to receive a credit card for the limit of 2,000.00 and could be raised to 10,000.00 in six months. She said since we had bad credit our credit report had been given to FDIC and they would help rebuild our credit. There was to be a one-time fee of 299.00 for the credit card and a package of medical and dental insurance. She said they would take the 299.00 out of my checking account and immediately send the package. She asked which card would I prefer Visa or Mastercard. I asked her if we would have to deposit money into the credit card and she said no. The credit card would have an automatic credit limit of 2,000. She said we would receive our package 7 days after the draft. A man then got on the telephone to verify my name, my address, the amount we were paying, and that we were purchasing a package with medical and dental insurance. Our bank account was debited 299.00 on June 18. A week went by and we did not receive the package, that following Monday I called the number Angel gave me and the telephone rep. Told me we would receive our package 15-20 business days after the draft. He said this had been told to me when they verified my name. On July 19 I called to tell them I had still not received my package they told me I would receive it sometime that week, they also told me and my husband the package had been sent on June 18. On July 23 I called that number again and requested a tracking number since the package had been sent via Fed-Ex.

On-line I went to Fed-Ex and tracked the package down. The package had been sent off July 21. I would be receiving the package July 24. Today is July 24th and yes I have received my package. The credit card FLYIER is for a Mastercard that you can take out what you deposit into the card. Exactly what I asked her and she said no is exactly what I got. My husband called and they told him they could not help what we had been told but the package was non-refundable. I guess this is what I get for doing deals on the telephone but I'm a situation where I have to go 400 miles once a month to see a doctor because I've been diagnose with 2 connective tissue disorders and it has gotton expensive. I thought a credit card would help on these trips. I can not believe these people can just lie like that and it be okay. It was false advertisement. Of course they don't record the sales person they just record the verification on your purchase and the amount.
